On November 2, Bassett High School dedicated a newly renovated special education center in honor of Linda Davis, a 30-year educator praised for championing the needs of special education students and helping them reach their full potential.

Bassett High School alum Monique Rodriguez credited Bassett Unified’s early childhood education program for setting her on the path to personal and professional success, during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony held Oct. 30 for the Flanner Early Childhood Development Center.

Bassett Unified will celebrate the opening of Flanner Child Development Center with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and classroom tours of the newly renovated facility.

Bassett Unified School District is partnering with Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis to hold the Bassett Unified Community Resource Fair, giving community members an opportunity to speak with medical care providers about low-cost local services in the areas of social, emotional, mental and physical health.

Bassett High English teacher Tania Neri’s class formed a line dance to ask a series of “Would you rather?” questions each time they changed partners, learning personal details about their schoolmates on the first day of school on Aug. 6.

Bassett Unified School District will invest more than $47 million during the 2018-19 school year to support student learning by boosting college and career preparedness opportunities, enhancing classroom environments and rolling out a Digital Learning initiative over the next four years that will provide each student with a technology device to use at school and at home.

Bassett Unified will provide technology devices to students in transitional kindergarten through grade 12 and connect Bassett families to low-cost home internet service as part of the District’s Digital Learning Initiative (DLI), a four-year rollout that starts in August.
